Bac Ninh wrestlers reached all five finals in the 77 kg, 82 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg and 130 kg categories, winning one gold, one silver and five bronze medals in Traditional wrestling events.

The organizing committee presents team awards for the Traditional wrestling event, with Bac Ninh ranking third overall.

The tournament, held from October 5 to 10, gathered more than 300 athletes from 15 delegations representing provinces, cities and sectors nationwide, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City (Zone 2), Thanh Hoa, Hue, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Quang Tri, Hai Phong, Ca Mau, Hung Yen, Lam Dong, the People’s Public Security and the Army.

A total of 33 medal sets were awarded across three categories: traditional, men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle.

Bac Ninh’s Tran Thi Anh (center podium) wins the gold medal in the 59 kg women’s freestyle category.

Overall, Bac Ninh athletes claimed 12 medals—three gold, three silver and six bronze. Gold medals went to Nguyen Trong Nam (55 kg, Traditional wrestling), Nguyen Van Bao (130 kg, Traditional wrestling) and Tran Thi Anh (59 kg, women’s freestyle).

In team rankings, Hanoi topped the Traditional wrestling event, followed by the Army and Bac Ninh.

In men’s freestyle, the Army ranked first, Hanoi second and Hai Phong third. In women’s freestyle, Hue took first place, Thanh Hoa second and the Army third.

Organizers said the championship provided valuable opportunities for wrestlers to compete, exchange experience and improve their skills. The event also served as a platform for selecting top wrestlers for Vietnam’s national team in upcoming international competitions.
