Expressing love for the homeland through every letter
To mark the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day on September 2, Vietravel’s northern regional office has launched a series of heartfelt activities, offering young people across the country a meaningful way to express their patriotism – through handwritten letters and drawings.
The programme “Letters to Ha Noi on Independence Day”, initiated by Vietravel, invites young people nationwide to share their most genuine feelings through pen and paper.

Participants are encouraged to reflect on the morning of National Day as the loudspeakers echo across the streets, their first time standing by Ho Guom (Sword Lake) filled with pride, or their dreams of a more prosperous, greener, and happier nation.
The winning letter will receive a journey to explore the vibrant colours of southern Viet Nam. Other inspiring entries will be awarded memorable trips to majestic Ha Giang, along with various souvenirs evoking national pride.
In conjunction with the letter-writing contest, the Handwritten Letters and Artistic Lamp Painting Workshop will be held on the afternoon of August 10, at OUR. Art Space, located at 292 Bach Dang, Ha Noi, participants will have the chance to hand-paint and decorate their own table lamp and write letters dedicated to Ha Noi.
Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel Ha Noi, shared: “These letters will be the silent witnesses of our times. We hope that young people will write with all the faith and love they have for the homeland. That, too, is the most beautiful gift today’s generation can send to the future.
