With the aim of serving the people while promoting and attracting tourists during this significant anniversary, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has instructed its affiliated units to open for free from September 1 to 3.
During this period, museums and cultural institutions will stage numerous displays and exhibitions showcasing the history, culture, land, and people of Viet Nam.
At the Ho Chi Minh Museum, notable thematic displays will include “80 Years of the People’s Public Security Remembering Uncle Ho’s Teachings” (scheduled for August 15), “The Autumn of Independence” (scheduled for August 26), and an outdoor display of a large oil painting titled “The Spring of Independence” (scheduled for September 2).
The Viet Nam National Museum of History will host a thematic exhibition “Mass Education – Lighting the Future”, due to open on August 22, recreating the spirit of the literacy eradication movement during the resistance war and the nation’s determination to raise public intellectual standards.
At the Viet Nam Museum of Fine Arts, highlights will include “Children of the Nation” (scheduled for August 15) and “Artificial Intelligence in Applied Fine Arts” (scheduled for August 22).
Under the direction of the Department of Ethnic Culture, the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will organise a range of engaging activities, introducing the traditional cultures of ethnic communities through a highland market space and cultural and artistic performances celebrating National Day.
Over the three days of free admission, the village expects to welcome around 50,000 visitors.
In addition, the Viet Nam Contemporary Art Theatre will offer free performances for the public, especially for children, from September 1 to 3, featuring water puppetry alongside vibrant art and music programmes.
