Grab trials cyclo service in Hue
Grab is trialing cyclo rides of up to 60 minutes in Hue with pick-up and drop-off near the Imperial Citadel and Toa Kham Wharf.
The cyclos, garbed in Grab’s signature green, are pedaled by experienced drivers who have completed training programs. Passengers can book cyclo rides on the Grab app to visit Hue’s historic sites.

During the trial phase, pick-up and drop-off are limited to four locations around the citadel and wharf, but Grab said it plans to work later with local authorities to add more.
The service is part of a three-year agreement between Grab and the city with support from the Hue Institute for Development Studies and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center.
Hue, home to eight UNESCO world heritage sites, seeks to maintain a traditional mode of transport but by integrating modern technology.
The cyclo owners will also receive training in digital and AI skills to improve their service.
At the launch Nguyen Thanh Binh, standing vice chairman of the Hue People’s Committee, said cyclos are not only a familiar image of the city but also a convenient way for visitors to explore it.
The new service would make booking and payment easier while creating new livelihoods for local drivers, he added.
Tran Hoang Tuan, Grab Vietnam market development director, said: "Hue is unique, with its lifestyle, culture and history evident on every street. "A cyclo ride is the most fitting way to experience this."
Grab is offering a promotional package with discounts on transport, dining and local specialties.
