The projects, led by AeonMall Vietnam and Sun Hill Vietnam, are expected to strengthen economic ties between Bac Ninh and Japanese investors while supporting the province’s industrial and commercial expansion strategy.

Nguyen Hong Thai, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, says the province hopes to strengthen practical and effective cooperation with Japanese localities and businesses.

He said Bac Ninh has continued improving its business climate through infrastructure development, administrative reforms and workforce training to better support foreign investors.

According to provincial officials, Bac Ninh has attracted more than 3,500 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total registered capital exceeding 49.4 billion USD, ranking second nationwide. Japanese investors account for nearly 130 projects worth close to 2 billion USD.

The largest newly licensed project is the AeonMall Bac Ninh Tan Tien commercial center, developed by AeonMall Vietnam with total investment of more than 149 million USD.

The project will be built in Tan Tien ward and include retail, dining, entertainment and office leasing facilities.

The second project is Sunhill Vietnam No.2 Factory, invested by Sun Hill Vietnam Co., Ltd. with capital of 3 million USD. Located in Hiep Hoa commune, the plant will manufacture caster wheels and replacement components.

Speaking at the event, member of Japan’s House of Representatives Yamamoto Sachiko praised Bac Ninh’s rapid development and its growing role as a high-tech manufacturing hub in northern Vietnam.

She said cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, particularly between Bac Ninh and Mie prefecture, had expanded steadily across economic, trade and cultural sectors, adding that the new investments would further strengthen bilateral ties.

The event also included discussions between Japanese businesses and Bac Ninh authorities on investment opportunities and business concerns in the province.
