Bac Ninh expands international cooperation, investment promotion in U.S. and Czech Republic
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh province has stepped up international cooperation and investment promotion activities during separate working visits to the United States and the Czech Republic this week, focusing on trade, high-tech industry, logistics, education and cultural exchanges.
On May 27, a delegation from Bac Ninh led by Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial National Assembly delegation, met with officials of Canby City in Oregon and attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Canby City Council and Bac Ninh’s Department of Industry and Trade.

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Secretary said the visit took place as Vietnam-U.S. relations continue to deepen, creating favorable conditions for stronger local-level cooperation.
She said Bac Ninh prioritizes expanding ties with U.S. partners and believes closer cooperation between localities will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations in a sustainable and practical manner.

She highlighted Bac Ninh’s rapid industrial growth and its efforts to build a high-tech, green industrial ecosystem and digital economy.
She said the northern province hopes to expand cooperation with U.S. localities and businesses in trade, investment, logistics, industrial production, high-tech agriculture, education and cultural exchange.

She also called on Canby authorities to support trade promotion activities and enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two sides.
Canby Mayor Brian Hodson described the meeting as an important milestone in developing long-term cooperation between the two localities, particularly in trade, investment, innovation and economic cooperation.
The MoU signed between Canby City Council and Bac Ninh’s Department of Industry and Trade aims to strengthen connections, promote trade and economic cooperation, and expand exchanges in areas with strong development potential.
During the visit, the Bac Ninh delegation presented Dong Ho folk paintings, a traditional Vietnamese art form, to Canby officials.
The delegation also visited Dragonberry Produce, a company that has supported efforts to expand exports of fresh Vietnamese lychee to the U.S. market.
Separately, from May 23-26, another Bac Ninh delegation led by Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, visited the Czech Republic for talks with authorities in Cheb city.
At a meeting with Cheb officials, the provincial leader praised the city’s achievements in balancing heritage preservation with innovation and economic development.
He said Bac Ninh is one of Vietnam’s leading industrial centers, attracting major foreign investors and ranking among the country’s top provinces in foreign direct investment inflows.
The two sides signed an MoU on delegation exchanges and cooperation in economy, culture, sports, tourism and education.

Bac Ninh also proposed exploring labor cooperation mechanisms with Cheb amid labor shortages in the Czech Republic. The province expressed interest in expanding educational cooperation, particularly in high technology and healthcare training.
Cheb Mayor Ing. Jan Vbra welcomed the partnership, saying similarities in culture, investment attraction and vocational training would provide a strong foundation for future cooperation.
During the trip, the Bac Ninh delegation also met with the Bac Ninh fellow-countrymen association in the Czech Republic.
