Provincial Chairman inspects Kep Station operations, surveys transport projects

Updated: 20:28, 02/04/2026

BAC NINH - Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, on April 1 conducted an on-site inspection at Kep Station in Kep commune and carried out field surveys to consider approval and adjustments to investment policies for several projects.

The projects include the construction of Kim Chan Bridge and its access roads (from Provincial Road 398 to Provincial Road 285B), and the expansion of the National Highway 1A underpass in Vo Cuong ward.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son inspects the operation at Kep Station.

Kep Station is an important railway station on the Hanoi–Dong Dang line, with a strategic location for regional transport connectivity and participation in international intermodal transport.

Since 2022, the station has been permitted to handle international freight services, facilitating the development of import-export transport by rail.

During the 2023–2025 period, the station’s production and business activities saw significant growth, gradually affirming its role in the regional logistics chain.

The number of freight trains increased from 1,082 in 2023 to 2,195 in 2025. The volume of goods loaded at the station in 2025 reached over 19.8 thousand tonnes, while unloaded cargo exceeded 36,600 tonnes.

Following the inspection, Chairman Son requested the Department of Construction and Kep commune to urgently coordinate in researching and developing a comprehensive master plan for the station area with a long-term vision.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son inspects the planning of the Kim Chan Bridge construction project and its approach roads.

The plan must ensure synchronisation of technical and logistics infrastructure, maximise land use efficiency, and create room for development.

Priority should be given to expanding the station to the largest possible scale, aiming to establish a modern logistics centre with strong spillover effects, serving as a driving force for local and regional socio-economic development.

After surveying Kep Station, the provincial leader also inspected the Kim Chan Bridge project and its access roads, as well as the National Highway 1A underpass expansion project. At each project site, Son provided specific directions to address difficulties and accelerate construction progress.
