Bac Ninh targets 12-13.5% growth, accelerates efforts to become centrally run city
BAC NINH - The provincial Party Committee on July 14 held a conference to review its leadership in the first six months of 2026 and outline tasks for the remainder of the year.
The event was chaired by the standing members of the provincial Party Committee, including Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Huong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the province's delegation of National Assembly deputies; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; and Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

Delegates proposed solutions to improve the quality of personnel assessment; strengthen inspection, supervision, prevention of violations, and the fight against corruption, wastefulness, and negative practices; and renew communication efforts to build social consensus.
They also discussed measures to remove bottlenecks, unlock resources, accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, and speed up site clearance for key projects; complete planning and the proposal for the establishment of Bac Ninh as a centrally run city; promote digital transformation; improve the effectiveness of People's Councils at all levels; and ensure political security, social order and safety.
Concluding the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai acknowledged and praised the efforts, determination, and achievements of Party committees, Party organisations, agencies, units, and localities at all levels during the first six months of the year.
He assigned the Office of the provincial Party Committee to fully compile recommendations from localities and agencies in order to advise the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on directing solutions within its authority.
Regarding socio-economic development, he requested that all resources be mobilised to achieve the 2026 growth target of 12-13.5%.

He placed particular emphasis on removing obstacles and accelerating the progress of key driving-force projects, including Gia Binh International Airport, the road connecting Gia Binh with Hanoi, industrial parks, urban areas, social housing projects, and public investment works, with the goal of achieving 100% disbursement of the 2026 plan.
At the same time, he called for accelerating the completion of the proposal to establish centrally governed Bac Ninh city.
Affirming that Bac Ninh is facing new development opportunities, Thai expressed his confidence that with the solidarity, determination, and aspiration for development and advancement shared by the entire Party Organisation, authorities, and people, the province will surpass the targets set for 2026, creating new momentum and strength for Bac Ninh to become a centrally governed city with rapid, sustainable, prosperous and comprehensive development.
