Updated: 15:35, 20/08/2025

More than 1,300 elderly people took part in the “U80s Respond to A80” event on August 19, setting a record for the National Anthem singing event with the largest number of elderly participants in Viet Nam, to mark the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

The programme was held at the Phuong Dong Asahi nursing home and resort complex in Ha Noi with the participation of representatives from central agencies, leaders of the Viet Nam Association of the Elderly, the Viet Nam Records Organisation, and other partners.

The event saw the participation of more than 1,300 elderly people.

The highlight of the programme was the setting of the record for the National Anthem singing event with the largest number of elderly participants in Viet Nam, with over 1,360 elderly people, who are members of the Veterans’ Association, the Former Youth Volunteers Association, the Association of the Elderly, and local people.

At the event, more than 1,300 elderly people joined together to sing the National Anthem in a solemn atmosphere, which was officially recognised in the Viet Nam Records list under the category “the National Anthem singing event with the largest number of elderly participants in Viet Nam.”

The event also featured AI photo exhibitions to reappear the history. The stalls were designed to enhance connections, inspire positive living, and strengthen connections among generations.

In addition, elderly participants received free health check-ups and consultations.

In the context of an ageing population, building a comprehensive living environment for the elderly has become increasingly urgent. The “U80s Respond to A80” event has become a festival honouring the golden generation, embodying humanistic, cultural, and historical values, while fully meeting both the healthcare and spiritual demands of the elderly.
