The event, held at the company’s canteen in Yen Phong Industrial Park, was jointly organised by the Bac Ninh Labour Federation and the company’s grassroots trade union.

Attending the programme were Vu Anh Duc, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, and Thach Van Chung, Chairman of the Bac Ninh Labour Federation.

Company executives and trade union representatives shared lunch with workers and discussed workplace conditions and daily life in an informal setting.

Organisers said the meals were prepared to ensure nutrition and food safety standards, reflecting the commitment of both the union and the enterprise to employee well-being.

Funded by the company’s trade union budget, each meal was valued at 63,000 VND (2.4 USD), 30,000 VND higher than the regular daily meal allowance.

Workers could choose from four menus featuring dishes such as grilled fish with galangal, boiled pork belly, stuffed squash with meat, salted chicken, stir-fried beef, tofu stuffed with meat, mushroom-fried bok choy and beef soup. Fruit and drinking yogurt were also included.

Samsung SDI Vietnam manufactures batteries for mobile phones, handheld devices and electric vehicles. The company currently employs nearly 1,800 workers, with average monthly incomes of nearly 11 million VND per person.

Speaking at the event, Vu Anh Duc praised the company’s business achievements during nearly 17 years of operation in Bac Ninh Province and commended the firm’s trade union activities.

He said the union had effectively represented and protected workers’ legitimate rights while also coordinating with the company to promote emulation movements and sustainable development initiatives.

Under the slogan “Skilled labour, high productivity, good income,” the labour federation will continue encouraging workers to contribute initiatives and improve productivity to support both enterprise growth and local economic development, he added.

Vu Anh Duc also called on the company to continue creating favorable conditions for grassroots union activities and to improve workers’ material and spiritual well-being through practical emulation campaigns and technical innovation initiatives.

On the occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour presented 100 gift packages to disadvantaged workers, employees suffering from serious illnesses and outstanding union members at the company.

Germany eyes stronger labour cooperation with Vietnam

The two sides discussed measures to deepen bilateral cooperation in workforce development and skills training, and enhanced coordination between management agencies of Vietnam and Germany in the time to come.
