Bac Ninh promotes labour export to South Korea under EPS programme

Updated: 11:03, 28/04/2026

BAC NINH – South Korea’s Employment Permit System (EPS), introduced in 2004, continues to offer high-income job opportunities for young Vietnamese workers, with Bac Ninh province emerging as a key contributor.

Under the programme, foreign workers who meet eligibility requirements are protected by Korean law and enjoy basic rights on par with local employees.

Staff at the Bac Ninh Employment Service Centre guides young workers in completing applications for the Korean language test under the EPS programme.

Preliminary statistics show that Bac Ninh currently has more than 2,000 workers employed in South Korea, earning an average monthly income of between 35 million and 45 million VND (1,300 – 1,700 USD) per person. Each year, around 200 to 300 workers from the province depart for the Korean labour market.

In 2026, Vietnam has been allocated a total quota of 4,200 workers to be sent to South Korea under the EPS programme.

In late March, the Bac Ninh Employment Service Centre received applications from 320 candidates registering for the Korean language proficiency test. Of these, 313 applied for manufacturing jobs, four for forestry and three for services.

The first-round Korean language test is scheduled to take place from April 23 to May 15 for forestry and service sectors, and from June 22 to August 21 for manufacturing.

Candidates who pass the language test will proceed to a skills assessment stage, expected to be held in mid-June for forestry and services, and in mid-October for manufacturing.
