Bac Ninh FC launches campaign for V.League 2 and National Cup 2025-2026

BAC NINH – Bac Ninh Football Club (Bac Ninh FC) held a send-off ceremony on September 9 ahead of its participation in the V.League 2 and National Cup 2025-2026, marking an important milestone for the northern province’s sporting ambitions.

The event at Viet Yen Conference Center was attended by senior provincial leaders including provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Gau, People’s Council Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh and People’s Committee (PPC) Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan, alongside representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation.

The V.League 2, Vietnam’s second-tier league, kicks off on September 19 with 12 teams competing in a double round-robin format.

The two highest-ranked clubs will earn promotion to V-League 1 for the 2026-2027 season. Bac Ninh joins teams such as Dong Thap, Khatoco Khanh Hoa, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City FC and Quy Nhon United.

The National Cup begins earlier on September 12 with 25 clubs, including 14 from V-League 1 and 11 from V.League 2.

Bac Ninh FC has set its sights on promotion, preparing with the appointment of Brazilian coach Paulo Foiani and a strengthened squad featuring experienced domestic players and foreign signings, including striker Ha Duc Chinh, midfielder Nguyen Hai Huy, goalkeeper Huynh Tuan Linh and internationals Li-Sheng Eddie Tran and Kaina Nunes. The club has also arranged friendly matches to build cohesion before the season.

At the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Mai Son praised the team’s efforts and urged players to uphold discipline, solidarity and fair play.

“The goal is not only to secure a place in the V-League but also to build a strong, distinctive club that can become a source of pride for Bac Ninh,” he said.

Senior advisor Park Hang-seo, former Vietnam national team coach, told players that competing in the V.League 2 marked a turning point in the club’s history.

He called for professionalism, focus and resilience to achieve promotion, stressing the need for a united squad and strong organizational foundations.

PPC Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan presented the club with a flag symbolizing the province’s support and encouraged the team to give their best on the pitch.

Bac Ninh FC also unveiled its official squad list and new kits for the season during the event.

Officials said they hoped the matches would not only be sporting highlights but also cultural and tourism products, helping to promote Bac Ninh’s image nationwide and abroad.
