Among those recognized is Nguyen The Dung, born in 1970, who has served as Party cell secretary of My Thon village in Gia Binh commune since 2012. He has for many consecutive years been rated as having excellently fulfilled his duties.

With strong political commitment, high credibility and a people-centered working style, Dung has led the Party cell to play its core political role at the grassroots level, contributing to local socio-economic development, maintaining public security and order, and improving residents’ living standards.

The second honoree, Vi Thi Hang, born in 1993, is Party cell secretary of Cau Nhac village in Bien Son commune.

After four years in office in a remote area inhabited entirely by members of the Nung ethnic minority, Hang has gradually strengthened Party cell activities and enhanced internal cohesion among Party members and local residents.

Under her leadership, the Party cell overcame longstanding shortcomings to achieve good and, later, excellent performance ratings, the commission said.

Hang has been noted for innovative approaches that link Party building with the preservation and promotion of Nung cultural identity. She has guided the effective implementation of activities under the national target program for ethnic minority areas, while maintaining and developing a Sloong hao folk singing club and promoting the teaching of the Nung language and traditional costumes to younger generations.

These cultural initiatives have helped foster social consensus, strengthen public trust and contribute to building a strong grassroots political system and national unity, the commission said.

The award ceremony for outstanding grassroots Party cell secretaries will be held in Hanoi on the evening of Feb. 3 and broadcast live on national television channel VTV1.
