Bac Ninh finishes runner-up in women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling events
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh wrestlers secured second place overall in both the women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman categories at the 2026 National Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling Clubs Championship.
Competing with a 46-member squad, the Bac Ninh team won a total of 12 gold medals, 12 silvers and 14 bronzes.

Gold medalists in the women’s freestyle category included Tran Thi Anh (59kg), Do Ngoc Linh (50kg), Nguyen Thi Hang (38kg) and Chu Thi Trang (69kg).
In Greco-Roman wrestling, Bac Ninh athletes winning gold medals were Tran Manh Duong (50kg), Nguyen Trong Nam (55kg), Nguyen Van Bao (130kg), Nguyen Xuan Tung (48kg), Vu Thai Son (51kg), Tran Duy Anh (65kg) and Nguyen Cong Nguyen (110kg). Wrestler Nguyen Duc Hao also claimed gold in the boys’ freestyle 41kg category.
With the results, Bac Ninh finished second overall in women’s freestyle wrestling behind Hue City, and second in Greco-Roman wrestling behind Hanoi, reaffirming the province’s position among the country’s leading wrestling teams.

The 2026 National Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling Clubs Championship took place in Hue City from May 2-10, bringing together nearly 350 male and female athletes from 18 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.
Athletes competed for 33 sets of medals, including 22 in freestyle events and 11 in Greco-Roman wrestling.
