Bac Ninh provincial leader orders timely completion of key tasks in Q2
BAC NINH – The provincial leader of Bac Ninh province has instructed local departments and authorities to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital and ensure the timely completion of key tasks in second quarter, as the province seeks to maintain strong economic growth.
Speaking at the provincial government's regular monthly meeting on June 3, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Pham Hoang Son called for greater accountability and closer coordination among agencies to meet development targets.

According to the provincial Department of Finance, Bac Ninh posted positive socio-economic results in May, with most major indicators rising from both the previous month and the same period last year.
Industrial production was estimated at 289.3 trillion VND (nearly 11 billion USD), up 14.4% year-on-year. Manufacturing and processing expanded 19.63%, electricity production and distribution rose 9.21%, while water supply services increased 28.2%.
Retail sales reached an estimated 10 trillion VND, up 1.6% from April and 17.24% from a year earlier.
The province attracted the equivalent of 1.04 billion USD in investment during May, bringing total investment inflows in the first five months of 2026 to more than 7.18 billion USD. State budget revenue reached 47.14 trillion VND, equivalent to 65.2% of the annual target.
In the agricultural sector, local authorities have stepped up support for the marketing and distribution of lychees, one of the province's signature products.
Bac Ninh has so far sold around 30,100 tonnes of lychees this season, with exports accounting for 42.3% of total output. Average prices have ranged between 60,000 and 70,000 VND per kilogram.
The province also continued efforts to improve its investment and business environment. In 2025, Bac Ninh ranked among Vietnam's top five localities for economic governance quality, while citizen and business satisfaction indices remained among the country's highest.
At the meeting, officials reviewed measures to address outstanding issues and discussed strategies to sustain double-digit economic growth.
The PPC Chairman Son directed departments and local administrations to develop detailed implementation plans for assigned targets, adding that performance results would serve as a key benchmark in evaluating officials and agency leaders.

To strengthen investment attraction, the management board of Bac Ninh's industrial parks was asked to closely monitor expansion plans by domestic enterprises and new foreign direct investment projects, while assessing potential shifts in global capital flows to formulate appropriate responses.
The meeting also considered a proposal by the Department of Home Affairs to streamline village and residential group administrations.
Under the plan, 2,408 existing village and residential units would be reorganized into 924 new units, reducing the total by 1,484, while 450 units would remain unchanged.
Interim administrations would be appointed for the newly established units, with official elections for village and residential heads to be held after six months in accordance with current regulations.
